Zynga to focus on online gambling

In business sometimes you have to take a step back in order to move forward. This seems to be the case for the game developer giant Zynga, which has announced that it would rid itself of 18% of its employees (around 520 people) freeing up some much needed cash ($70 to $80 million before taxes).

In a coincidental twist, during the first quarter of 2013, Zynga has experinced a decline in revenues of about 18%. In addition to firing part of their workforce, Zynga has also decided to remove 4 of its games and focus instead on those mid-core games, real money games and franchises which have proven to be successful in the last year.
