William Hill leaves China

Share

William Hill is pulling out of China and removing access to Chinese residents from their gambling suites for the forseeable future. The decision which also includes the territories of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau was not taken lightly and was sparked due to regulatory issues apparently out of William Hill’s control.

An email sent to affiliates last week, explains how the company will suspend access to all accounts located in China starting August 19th. Players and affiliates would be able to use their accounts to access the sportsbook, poker or casino games but they would still be able to check their accounts and process withdrawals at any time.
