Upstate New York Casinos Disappoint With Lower Revenue Than Expected

As per the New York State Gambling Commission reports a sum of $133.6 million was generated by the three operational casinos in the New York Upstate during the December 2016 to May 2017 period.

An approximate of $325 million was expected of the casinos to generate by the end of 2017, seeing the current pace it looks like it would reach somewhere around $267.2 million i.e. $57.8 million short of the actual number.

After the Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a State Constitutional Amendment in 2013, the three Casinos namely Tioga Downs, Rivers Casino & Resort, and del Lago Resort and Casino were in Nicholas, Schenectady and Waterloo respectively were legally allowed to operate a casino gambling.

Tioga Downs racked in around $34.8 million and had about of 841 slot machines, 25 table games and 12 poker tables with most income with slots bringing in the most at $29.5 million and table games generating somewhere around $10.3 million.

This year’s March was the best month for the casino as it generated a total of $6.2 million.
