Satellite Casinos a first for Cyprus

Nicosia will host the largest of these casinos, with 5 gaming tables and 50 odd slot machines.  It is likely that the gambling houses will be located around the main airports of Larnaca and Paphos.

Hard Rock International and Melco International Development were the selected developers with a 35.4% share. The local developer Cyprus Phassouri will own 29.3%.

The National Gaming and Casino Supervision Commission of Cyprus awarded the license to this consortium and will allow up to four satellite casinos and three slots parlors across the Republic; this being the southern portion of the island.

The first resort built will be in Limassol close to My Mall and will feature a 500 bedroomed Hard Rock hotel and a large casino with 1000 slot machines and 100 gaming tables along with various other entertainment offers. The final completion date is 2020.Until then a temporary casino will operate – opening in October 2017.
