Since its grand opening in 2010, Singapore’s well-known casino resort, Marina Bay Sands, has seen over 500 million visits. This milestone was recently honored by the resort, which is run by Las Vegas Sands Corp., solidifying its position as a top international destination.

“This milestone underscores our position as a global icon, attracting guests from around the world,” the company shared in a social media post. They highlighted the continuous evolution of the resort, stating, “It comes as we continue to transform our property and redefine our guest experiences.”

While Marina Bay Sands did not specify how visitor numbers were calculated, the achievement marks a significant milestone in the property’s history.

Strong Performance in 2024

The resort’s 2024 numbers were excellent. Throughout the year, the facility saw over 38 million visitors, proving its continued popularity. Furthermore, more than 1.2 million delegates attended a variety of meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibits (MICE) events held at Marina Bay Sands.

With around 400,000 people watching performances at the Sands Theatre in 2024, entertainment continued to be a big draw. The resort’s entertainment appeal is enhanced by the venue’s continued ability to draw both local and international performers.

In 2024, Marina Bay Sands also enjoyed a financial success that broke all previous records. Its strong financial health was demonstrated when its profits before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) surpassed $2 billion for the first time.

Beyond tourism and entertainment, the resort significantly contributes to Singapore’s economy. Marina Bay Sands reported a total spending of SGD 2.19 billion ($1.64 billion) in 2024, further cementing its role as a key economic driver.

The resort’s workforce also remains a major part of its success, employing over 11,800 team members. In support of employment growth, Marina Bay Sands recently held a job fair, offering 1,200 positions across various departments.

Additionally, the resort emphasized its commitment to local businesses, with 91.5% of its procurement budget spent within Singapore. This dedication to supporting local enterprises strengthens the broader economy.
