The World Phygital Community (WPC) has rolled out its 2025–2026 ranking tournament schedule, paving the way for athletes and clubs to earn a spot at the Games of the Future 2026, which will be held in Kazakhstan. The competition season kicks off on August 1, 2025, and wraps up by December 15, with WPC members across the globe organizing events during that stretch.

Clubs and athletes will go head-to-head in phygital sports, a format that blends digital and physical competition. It’s part of a growing international movement that mixes gaming and athleticism in a single competitive system.
Each participating country will begin with local qualifiers called Phygital Origins, where athletes compete within their own regions. Winners then advance to the Phygital Rivals stage—national-level tournaments to determine the top talent in each country.
WPC tournaments will include four core phygital disciplines:
The first three disciplines feature two stages: a digital round using video game versions of the sport, followed by a real-world match. Phygital Dancing is different—it relies solely on dance-based video games, combining competition and creativity in a single stage.
Once the ranking season ends in December, WPC will calculate global rankings based on each athlete and club’s performance. The top two in each discipline will qualify directly for the 2026 Games of the Future. Those ranked between 3rd and 26th will move into the Phygital Contenders tournament, where they’ll get one final shot to make it to the main event.
WPC Chairperson Dan Merkley said the upcoming season is set to be the biggest yet. “With 96 World Phygital Community members across 92 countries, this is the chance for anyone who wants to be part of this fast-growing phenomenon to step up and prove themselves. Phygital sport is for everyone, and we are eager to see which phygital superstars emerge this season.”
Before the season begins, WPC members have a window from May 1 to July 31, 2025, to apply for hosting rights. Approved hosts will organize Phygital Origins and Phygital Rivals events in their regions.
With global interest in phygital sports climbing and the Games of the Future drawing closer, the 2025 season is expected to attract more participation than ever across digital and real-world formats.
