Axie Infinity has had another exciting and pivotal year in 2023, tackling some of its most significant challenges. The company’s focus revolved around key questions: the successful implementation of Axie Core and Axie Evolution, scaling their community-outreach strategy, reactivating the Axie PH community, and confirming Axie’s continued relevance in the evolving digital landscape.

The year began with high expectations and by its end, Axie Infinity had achieved remarkable milestones. The “Forgotten Temple” trailer, part of the company’s evolution campaign, captured widespread attention, amassing over 2.7 million organic views within a week. This achievement not only underscored the brand’s appeal but also cemented its position as a leader in web3 gaming and NFT engagement for the year.

In terms of user engagement, over 72,000 new wallets acquired more than one Axie, reflecting the scale of Axie Infinity’s outreach. The platform’s Monthly Active Users (MAU) saw a staggering 170% increase, jumping from around 100,000 at the year’s start to 270,000. Furthermore, Axie Infinity’s Classic version underwent a resurgence, boosting its MAU from 10,000 to 160,000, with its announcement post going viral and garnering over 8 million views.

The company also made significant strides in its tokenomics, burning 1.7 billion SLP compared to only 0.5 billion emitted, leading to a substantial contraction in SLP supply. These figures underpin Axie Infinity’s claim as the largest Intellectual Property (IP) in the NFT space for the year.

Innovations in NFT Economics were central to Axie Infinity’s strategy. The company successfully rolled out vertical progression through part evolution and Axie Core. This development enhanced the value and uniqueness of Axie characters, turning them into central figures of players’ digital identities.
