Autoverse Studios, the developer behind the highly anticipated web3 drag racing game Auto Legends, has secured a $1 million strategic investment from Coinbase Ventures. This funding, sourced from Coinbase’s Base Ecosystem Fund, strengthens the studio’s ability to deliver an engaging blockchain-powered racing experience.
This latest investment adds to an earlier $8 million round led by White Star Capital. Other key investors in that round included Draper Dragon, Sfermion, LiquidX, Operating Group, Miller Motorcars, and Horacio Pagani. With these financial boosts, Auto Legends is gearing up to introduce a competitive and immersive racing ecosystem.
Shan Aggarwal, Coinbase’s VP of Corporate and Business Development Ventures, emphasized the significance of this partnership:
“We are proud to be supporting a team which has consistently delivered world-class racing games to capture the imagination of web3 gaming, and excited for Auto Legends to accelerate its reach on Base.”
Autoverse Studios has also strengthened its team by hiring Scott Probin as Game Director. Probin, a veteran with over 35 years in AAA game development, has worked on titles such as NHL 94-97, Need for Speed: Underground, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, For Honor, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. His extensive experience in racing and action games makes him a valuable addition to the project.

This move aligns with Autoverse Studios’ mission to bridge traditional gaming with blockchain technology, making Auto Legends appealing to both mainstream and web3 audiences.
Auto Legends is a social drag racing game where players can compete, customize their vehicles, and earn blockchain-backed rewards. With partnerships involving major car brands such as McLaren, Mitsubishi, Honda, and Mazda, the game will feature officially licensed vehicles, tuning options, and performance parts.
Players will begin with a starter car and engage in high-speed drag races, modifying their vehicles with real-world parts, custom designs, and precision tuning. According to the game’s official website, it will offer “high levels of realistic tuning and personalization.”
A closed beta version will be available on the Epic Games Store for both Windows and Mac, with a mobile release expected later this year. Additionally, the first NFT mint on Magic Eden is set to launch soon, allowing early adopters to acquire exclusive in-game rewards.
