Animoca Brands and Soneium Partner to Enhance Web3 with Anime ID Integration

Share

Soneium, Sony’s Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain driven by Optimism’s Superchain, has partnered with Animoca Brands. In order to improve user experiences on digital platforms with anime influences, our partnership presents Anime ID, a decentralized identity layer. Anime ID, which was created by San FranTokyo, a major contributor to Anime Foundation, will use the identity architecture of Animoca’s Moca Network.

Users can create and maintain embedded accounts, digital identities, and credentials on the Soneium blockchain by integrating Moca Network’s Account, Identity, and Reputation SDK (AIR SDK). This invention guarantees more seamless transfers across decentralized apps (dApps) while preserving a unified online persona.

“Our partnership with Soneium marks a significant step towards an interconnected Web3 future,” said Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands. “By integrating Moca Network’s identity infrastructure, we’re not just enhancing entertainment experiences; we’re creating a seamless digital ecosystem.”

Cultural Campaigns and Enhanced Engagement

San FranTokyo is set to launch anime-inspired cultural campaigns on Soneium, aiming to onboard anime fans into the blockchain space. These initiatives will offer interactive and immersive experiences, bridging traditional anime fandom with emerging Web3 technologies.

“We’re excited to launch Anime ID on Soneium as one of Anime ID’s first major ecosystem partners,” said David Taing, head of San FranTokyo. “Together with Moca Network and Soneium, we’ll connect, onboard, and empower anime fans to explore new anime-inspired experiences.”

Soneium, a product of Sony Block Solutions Labs (SBSL), embodies Sony Group’s vision of connecting people through technology and creativity. Jun Watanabe, chairman of Sony Block Solutions Labs, highlighted the vast potential of anime within the blockchain ecosystem. “By integrating Moca Network’s AIR SDK and Anime ID, we aim to onboard global anime fans, enabling them to collaborate, create, and infuse the world with emotion.”

This partnership promises to transform how fans interact with their favorite anime universes. Through Anime ID, users can engage with personalized experiences, collect verifiable digital assets, and participate in community-driven events. With Soneium’s blockchain as the foundation, this initiative will reshape how anime enthusiasts experience and contribute to their fandom.
