After months of anticipation, Twitter has released an official verification mechanism for NFT profile pictures by linking your Ethereum wallet to your Twitter account.
Once linked, you will be presented with a list of NFTs you own. However, while the company said the feature will be expanded to other blockchains, it is currently only available for Ethereum-based NFTs.
Twitter’s NFT verification process is one of several ways for users to customize their Twitter profiles while also a campaign to keep crypto enthusiasts on the platform while simultaneously snubbing its former CEO Jack Dorsey’s “Bitcoin-only” philosophy, who is strong critic of the Web 3 developments and at the moment is only focused on Bitcoin.
Twitter’s NFT verification is available for Twitter Blue users, which will set you back $2.99-a-month on a subscription.
