Toyota and Nissan Have Joined the Metaverse

Two Japanese carmakers Nissan and Toyota have become the latest global business to enter the metaverse. A Nikkei Asia report reveals that Nissan has opened a virtual showroom while Toyota dabbled into the metaverse with virtual workspaces.

As per the report, Nissan has created a digital reality version of its Tokyo gallery Nissan Crossing which can be used for vehicle launches and other events.

On its company website, Nissan Motor Corporation announces that by means of its Invisible-to-Visible — an augmented reality interface that connects to the metaverse — it has created “limitless possibilities for services and communications that will make driving more convenient, comfortable, and exciting.” The car manufacturer created a digital reality version of its Tokyo gallery Nissan Crossing.

Toyota, the world’s largest car manufacturer in volume, started off by looking after its own people first. The company reportedly created virtual workstations for some departments and its subsidiaries. Employees can also take part in company meetings or chat with each other by using avatars
