The 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) saw Matthew Lambrecht winning the 2024 WSOP Event #76: $10,000 Mystery Bounty No-Limit Hold’em (8-Handed). This format, gaining popularity, attracted 965 entries, creating an $8,974,500 prize pool. Each buy-in set aside $3,000 for bounties, totaling $2,895,000 for those securing knockouts from day 2 onward. There were 236 bounties available, ranging from 145 $5,000 tickets to a single $250,000 slip.
Amidst the excitement of bounty hunting, Lambrecht claimed the top prize from the main pool. He walked away with $1,018,933 and his first WSOP gold bracelet.
This win marked Lambrecht’s biggest career achievement, surpassing his previous high of $238,079 for third place in a $1,600 event at the Wynn Summer Classic a month earlier. The two-time WSOP Circuit ring winner now boasts nearly $2.6 million in career earnings.
The event paid out to 145 players, including notable names like six-time bracelet winner Shaun Deeb (20th), 2017 Poker Players Championship winner Elior Sion (18th), 2013 WSOP main event runner-up Jay Farber (15th), Ky Nguyen (13th), two-time bracelet winner Chris Brewer (12th), four-time bracelet winner Adrian Mateos (11th), and 2010 Aussie Millions $100,000 buy-in champion Dan Shak (10th).
“I feel great,” Lambrecht told reporters. “I recently had my biggest score, and this is another big win. Maybe I’ll play more high-stakes events later this year or next, like the $25ks,” he said, reflecting on how the prize money might influence his poker career.
