Christopher Alcindor turned the largest score of his live poker career into a first bracelet, winning WSOP Event 37: $1,500 Big O for $387,110.
Good to Know
Christopher Alcindor came through a huge field at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas to win WSOP Event 37 $1,500 Big O. The Canadian online poker regular from Montreal collected $387,110, more than nine times larger than his previous top live tournament result.
Before this win, Alcindor’s best recorded score was $42,625 from a WSOP International Circuit Calgary Monster Stack victory in 2024. He also already had two WSOP Circuit rings, but this was his first WSOP gold bracelet.
WSOP Event 37 $1,500 Big O drew 2,150 entries across two starting flights. After two more days of combined-field play, only Alcindor stood with the bracelet.
The result also continued the fast growth of Big O at the WSOP. The five-card pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better format first became a standalone bracelet event in 2023, when Scott Abrams topped 1,458 entries. Abrams nearly won it again this year, but finished third for $187,150.
Several known names cashed in WSOP Event 37 $1,500 Big O, including Philip Hui, Ari Engel, Bryce Yockey, Ben Yu, Brett Shaffer, Luis Velador, Sean Troha, Viktor Blom, Dario Sammartino, Bruno Furth, Mark Gregorich and Shawn Rice.
The final table also included three bracelet winners. Anthony Reategui finished seventh for $57,150, two-time WSOP winner Tom Koral placed sixth for $75,600, and Abrams reached third place.
Alcindor took control late by scoring the final three eliminations. He made tens full of aces to send Dimitrios Melissourgos out in fourth, then scooped Abrams with kings up and the only qualifying low. That left James Roullier at a major chip disadvantage heads-up. The final hand came on a paired jack-high flop, where Alcindor held trips and stayed ahead through the river to eliminate Roullier in second for $258,690.

Big O is a five-card version of pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better, where players compete for high and qualifying low halves of the pot. That split-pot structure often creates large multi-way hands and bigger swings than standard four-card PLO8.
