Yield Guild Games (YGG) has added a new adventure to its casual browser game LOL Land, unveiling Pengu Wonderland in partnership with Pengu Asia. The project comes from Igloo APAC, part of Pudgy Penguins’ parent company Igloo Inc., and brings both regional culture and community-driven NFT integration to the game.
Good to know
Pengu Wonderland brings a vibrant, culture-rich layer to LOL Land. Players can now explore levels inspired by Asia’s heritage, from China’s Temple of Heaven to Vietnam’s Ben Thanh Market. The update also adds recognizable landmarks like Hong Kong’s HSBC Building, Malaysia’s Petronas Twin Towers, and Taiwan’s Taipei 101.
To make the world feel even more alive, the expansion includes smaller cultural touches such as Singapore’s merlion statue, Filipino jeepneys, and traditional red-sail junk boats.
Through YGG Play, five Pudgy Penguins and fifteen Lil Pudgys officially joined LOL Land. The NFTs were licensed from community members, including Brian, Kinglongwu, and Swam. This move showcases the project’s commitment to involving holders directly in shaping in-game experiences.
Cheryl Law, President of Igloo APAC, called the project a cultural milestone:
“Pengu Wonderland is a celebration of what makes both our communities special. It highlights the richness of Asian culture and our growing cultural footprint in Asia,” she said.
LOL Land’s popularity continues to rise, recording over 631,000 monthly active players and 69,000 daily users in July. Those who spend money in the game are deeply engaged, averaging $434 each. That engagement has fueled YGG’s broader ecosystem, with the guild recently buying back $518,000 worth of its YGG token from game revenue.
