Wemade has finally lifted the curtain on how players will be able to earn rewards in its highly anticipated Norse-themed MMORPG Legend of YMIR. The company detailed the G-WEMIX play-to-earn (P2E) system, which will be at the heart of the game’s economy when it launches globally later in 2025.
Good to Know
G-WEMIX will act as the lifeblood of Legend of YMIR’s tokenomics. Players can earn it through competitive content and then choose to reinvest it into upgrading gear and improving their character builds, or exchange it at a 1:1 ratio for $WEMIX, the on-chain token.
Wemade first teased G-WEMIX in June 2025 through the game’s teaser page but recently expanded on how players will use the currency. The developer says G-WEMIX is designed to “enhance the fun and immersion of the game, allow players to naturally generate revenue, and provide a sustainable gaming experience.”
Earning the currency will involve participating in cross-server competitive activities. Players will hunt monsters and complete challenges in several ways:
Performance in these activities matters beyond personal rewards. Each server has a limited allocation of G-WEMIX, and the server that wins more cross-server events will secure a larger share of the overall pool. Victorious servers will see additional rewards added to their treasury, creating incentives for players to work together.
Wemade confirmed that players can exchange their G-WEMIX earnings for $WEMIX at a fixed 1:1 ratio. The company says this setup “ensures stable value” and reduces the price volatility that plagues many other in-game tokens. Any differences in value would only come from fees when converting to WEMIX Coin.
To support this model, the Wemix Foundation is establishing a $7.5 million (₩10.2 billion KRW) WEMIX Reserve. The reserve will maintain a stable supply of G-WEMIX and provide confidence for players as they engage with the game’s P2E features.
Legend of YMIR is a Norse mythology-inspired MMORPG built with Unreal Engine 5 and running on the Wemix mainnet. Players will explore a vast world shaped by Ragnarok, which occurs every 9,000 years, while engaging in fast-paced third-person combat.
Like other titles in the Wemix ecosystem, such as Mir4 and Night Crows, the game will feature a player-driven economy. Players can own items as NFTs and trade them on-chain. In addition to earning assets through gameplay, they will compete for G-WEMIX to strengthen their characters and potentially convert their progress into $WEMIX tokens.
Legend of YMIR is scheduled for a global launch in the second half of 2025. Although the platforms haven’t been officially confirmed, it’s expected to be a free-to-play cross-platform release for Windows PCs and mobile devices on Android and iOS.
