G2 Gozen is leading both Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the 2024 VALORANT Game Changers EMEA season, which has already shown to be an exceptional success. There will be a significant shift as we get closer to Stage 3, which should keep things exciting. The Grand Finals will not follow the traditional format for the first time in history. This important event will take place in Istanbul, Turkey on October 6 at the ESA Arena. The location promises to be an amazing place to watch, which will heighten the excitement as the best teams battle it out for a berth in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2024: Game Changers Championship.
Stage 3 will feature a mix of online and live elements. The top four teams from the group stages will advance to the Playoffs, which will primarily be played online. The Upper Bracket will involve three rounds leading up to the Grand Final, while the Lower Bracket will consist of four rounds. Both the Upper and Lower Bracket Finals will determine which teams make it to the Grand Final, which will be a best-of-five series.
Fans can catch the action on Twitch, with the first two days of the Stage 3 Playoffs streamed on twitch.tv/dive_gg. From September 25, the games, including the Grand Finals, will be available on twitch.tv/VALORANT_EMEA. Ticket information for the live event in Istanbul will be announced soon.
In addition to the Grand Finals announcement, VALORANT Game Changers EMEA is launching a new mixed-gender tournament, the VCT OFF//SEASON Spotlight Series. Scheduled to run online from October 10 to 16, and culminating at Paris Games Week on October 24, this tournament will feature 14 invited VCT and Challengers teams. The event will take place on the Main Stage at Paris Games Week, one of Europe’s largest gaming events, with a capacity of 2,000 spectators.
The tournament will showcase mixed teams, each required to include at least two Game Changers players. Teams will compete for a €30,000 prize pool. The format will include a double elimination bracket with seeding based on previous results. The top two teams will receive a first-round bye, while the remaining teams battle through the Upper and Lower Brackets.
Daniel Ringland, Head of VALORANT Esports EMEA, expressed enthusiasm about these developments: “We are extremely excited to bring VALORANT Game Changers on the road for the first time and to introduce a mixed-gender tournament to the 2024 VALORANT Esports calendar at Paris Games Week,” he said. “Our ambition with Game Changers is to create new opportunities for women in our ecosystem, and we hope these events will help us accelerate towards a future where all players are competing side by side at the highest level.”
