Shatterpoint just released its official whitepaper, giving players an early look at how its in-game economy, battle mechanics, and $POINT token will function as Season 1 approaches.
Good to know
The game combines MOBA-style movement with RPG mechanics, as players collect Shards, upgrade gear, and compete in real-time for leaderboard placement. Built over nearly two years alongside Big Time and Open Loot, Shatterpoint is now ready to launch on Android and iOS with full blockchain integration.
The whitepaper outlines everything from gear crafting and character builds to token-based infusions and event access. Matches feature 3 players, each working to gather the most Shards before time runs out. These Shards can be found in chests, dropped by enemies, or earned by completing shared quests. Taking out opponents lets you steal 20% of their Shards too.
Heroes can be equipped with up to four runes and enhanced with crafted gear. Quantum Dust and Shards fuel upgrades, and for those who want true ownership, items can be infused with $POINT tokens to turn them into tradeable collectibles.
Players can also enter solo boss fights, which drop rare rewards and tokens. Some battles will require NFT ownership or entry fees in $POINT, while others stay web2-friendly but offer smaller prize pools.
Trading happens through Open Loot, which supports Equipment, Cosmetic, and Utility Collectibles. Each has a fixed supply and adds gameplay benefits. Cosmetics even boost token rewards depending on rarity. To craft them, players need a Cosmetic Printer, available in-game or on Open Loot.
Utility Collectibles include Crystals, which are used to earn $POINT in PvP. These are activated using Crystal Forges. Players can charge them to enable earning in 6, 15, or 30 matches, depending on the charge level.
Season 1 introduces the “Play to Airdrop” model, where players earn Spark points from weekly missions like PvP wins, crafting, and monster hunts. Top 1,000 players on the leaderboard will receive Spark, which converts to $POINT at the token generation event. Until then, players can use Spark to unlock in-game features in place of $POINT.
There’s no exact Season 1 launch date yet, but the team is awaiting Apple’s final approval. Once that lands, players can start completing objectives and climbing the leaderboard to earn Spark and future token rewards.
