This year, Red Bull Kumite, the renowned fighting game championship, celebrates its tenth anniversary with an exciting return to Paris, where it began. The tournament, which is scheduled for April 5–6, 2025, at the historic La Maison de la Mutualité, offers two exciting days of Street Fighter 6 competition in which 16 of the most skilled players in the globe compete for supremacy.
In a nod to its rich history, this special anniversary edition features an Art Deco-inspired, Great Gatsby-themed arena. Eight renowned Street Fighter icons—veterans with victories at Red Bull Kumite, EVO, and the Capcom Cup—will square off against eight fierce challengers. These underdogs include winners from the Last Chance Qualifier and Play-In stages. The tournament format aims to answer one burning question: can the new generation dethrone the established legends of fighting games?
Fourteen players receive direct invitations to the Main Event on Sunday, April 6, while the remaining two challenger spots will be determined through the Last Chance Qualifier and the open Play-In tournament on Saturday, April 5. With 256 slots available globally, registration for the open bracket begins on January 31 at 8pm CET via Start.gg.
Each match will test skill, adaptability, and mental toughness as competitors fight in high-stakes, single-elimination rounds with a first-to-5 format. Spectators will also enjoy a live drawing of the tournament bracket, adding to the event’s excitement.
Red Bull Kumite has long been a cornerstone of the fighting game community. Since its inception in Paris in 2015, the tournament has traveled to iconic venues in Japan, London, Las Vegas, and South Africa. Last year’s New York showdown, featuring Saul Leonardo “MenaRD” Mena II’s dramatic victory over Du “NuckleDu” Dang, set the bar high.
