Peacock Comes To YouTube Premium Users Under Multi Year Deal

Share

YouTube Premium subscribers in the US will receive Peacock Premium access from early 2027 under a multi-year agreement between YouTube and NBCUniversal. The bundle combines creator videos, music, films, television and live sports inside one subscription.

Good to Know

  • The bundle includes the ad-supported Peacock Premium plan.
  • NFL, NBA, MLB, Premier League and Olympic coverage will feature in the service.
  • Universal+ and Hayu will also reach YouTube Premium in selected international markets.

Peacock Gains a New Route to Millions of Viewers

NBCUniversal has chosen wider distribution rather than relying only on direct Peacock subscriptions.

Eligible YouTube Premium members will gain seamless Peacock access without leaving the YouTube platform. Programming will include Saturday Night Live, Love Island USA, Law & Order SVU, The Office and The Real Housewives franchise, along with Universal films.

Live sport forms a large part of the package. Peacock carries the NFL, NBA, MLB, Premier League, WNBA, college football, college basketball, golf, the Kentucky Derby and Olympic events.

YouTube Premium will continue to include ad-free standard YouTube viewing, downloads, background play and YouTube Music. Peacock Premium will retain advertising because the bundle covers the $10.99 monthly tier rather than the higher Premium Plus plan.

An exact launch date and any changes to the YouTube Premium price have not yet been announced.

Deal Goes Beyond a US Streaming Bundle

The agreement also renews NBCUniversal channel distribution through YouTube TV and covers advertising technology, sports production and Comcast platforms including Xfinity and Xumo.

NBC Sports will produce selected live events for YouTube. Some NBCUniversal sporting events will also stream on the NBC Sports YouTube channel, giving non-subscribers a sample of the wider sports catalogue.

Outside the US, YouTube Premium will carry Universal+ and reality streaming service Hayu in selected markets. Upgrade options for Peacock subscribers will also follow.

Peacock Premium Plus already became available through YouTube Primetime Channels on June 29 for $16.99 per month. The standard Peacock Premium tier will arrive as a separate YouTube add-on later in summer 2026, before inclusion in the YouTube Premium bundle in early 2027.

Peacock Adds Distribution After First Profit

The agreement follows the first profitable quarter for Peacock since its 2020 debut.

Peacock recorded $189 million in pre-tax profit during the second quarter of 2026. Revenue increased 54% to $1.9 billion, while two million additions took the paid subscriber total to 48 million. FIFA World Cup coverage in Spanish and Love Island USA helped drive viewing and subscriptions.

YouTube now gives NBCUniversal another way to place Peacock in front of viewers who may not buy a separate streaming subscription. Amazon and Apple already distribute Peacock, but NBCUniversal described the YouTube agreement as the largest wholesale distribution deal for the platform to date.
