For its second year, Coinbase and Base are bringing back Onchain Summer to highlight the thriving onchain economy. Participants are invited to explore and contribute to on-chain gaming, art, music, and more throughout this enormous, multi-month event. Onchain Summer, which takes place in August, is jam-packed with everyday events that highlight the inventiveness and involvement of the community.
To get started with the event, users may mint the Onchain Summer NFT, a special digital resource that promotes remixing the brand for one’s own initiatives. Clément Cases and Bendito Mockup, the original creators, will profit from the proceeds of these NFT sales. In order to make the onchain movement accessible to everyone interested in participating, our project seeks to engage with a worldwide audience.
One of the main highlights is a build Athon hosted by Base in collaboration with partners like Optimism, offering over $2 million in prizes, grants, and gas credits. Additionally, the event features an on-chain merch store where the community can design or sell new merchandise. Participants can use Coinbase’s smart wallets to swiftly create on-chain accounts with sponsored transactions. All merchandise and experiences during Onchain Summer can be purchased using stablecoins in USDC.
