Xbox Game Studios and developer The Coalition have unveiled the latest addition to the Gears of War franchise: Gears of War: E-Day. While the release date remains under wraps, this upcoming game will be available on Xbox Series and PC.
Gears of War: E-Day dives into the events of Emergence Day, a crucial moment in the Gears of War saga. Set fourteen years before the original Gears of War, the story brings back war heroes Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago. Upon returning home, they are confronted with a terrifying new enemy: the Locust Horde. These monstrous beings, emerging from underground, unleash havoc and threaten humanity’s survival.
The Coalition, in collaboration with Blur Studio, has created a breathtaking announcement trailer using Unreal Engine 5. The trailer showcases in-game assets, providing fans with a visually rich preview of what’s to come. Accompanied by a new instrumental rendition of ‘Mad World,’ originally performed by Gary Jules, the trailer features a reimagined version by the game’s composer, Adam Lastiwka. Premiering in 4K resolution at 30 FPS with 5.1 stereo sound, the trailer’s specifications are optimized for streaming and may not reflect the final game’s performance.
