Fishing Frenzy has launched Season 2, introducing fresh content, crossover items, and new ways to earn rewards in the browser-based Web3 fishing game. The new season runs for 10 weeks and adds updated mechanics, a limited-time zone, and exclusive NFTs for players.
Good to know
Fishing Frenzy’s second season, titled New Horizons, kicked off on June 12 and will span 10 weeks. The update introduces new areas, gameplay mechanics, and rewards, encouraging both new players and veterans to explore the latest additions.
A major highlight is Bloom Lagoon, a temporary fishing zone available until June 26. In this area, players can catch 16 fish species, craft using unique recipes, and collect 7 limited-time pets. Some pets come from Web3 collaborations with Fableborne, Pixels, and Pirate Nation, linking the game to broader communities in the space.
Players can now find two types of chests: Pioneer and Lucky. Pioneer chests offer upgraded items such as gold, rods, and sushi, though they are less frequently encountered. Lucky Chests are tied to end-of-season rewards and must be opened later.
Fishing rods have also been refreshed. New rods include a “luck” stat that increases the odds of receiving bonus items, but slightly lowers the chance of hooking rare fish. The Horizon Rod, a special tool, is available to players who either spent 20 RON in Season 1 or own a Founders Pass.
To prevent bots and maintain competitive fairness, VIP1 and VIP2+ players now have separate leaderboard tiers. Battle pass rewards have been adjusted, with the new pass priced at 25 RON. It includes rare pets, additional chests, and bonus rewards for active users.
Horizon Points are the new seasonal metric for rewards. Players can earn them by completing quests, rising on leaderboards, or buying the battle pass. These points will eventually determine each player’s share of the total season prize pool. Frenzy Points from Season 1 remain valid.
Fishing Frenzy remains free-to-play on both mobile and desktop browsers. The core loop still involves catching and selling fish for gold, which can be used to buy sushi and energy-restoring items. Players can also join daily quests and events to boost their earnings and progress.
