In what sounds like a practical joke and perhaps is, with April 1 not too far away now, Tesla have announced title changes for Elon Musk and Zach Kirkhorn.
The announcement was made in a recent SEC filing where it was stated that:
“Effective as of March 15, 2021, the titles of Elon Musk and Zach Kirkhorn have changed to TechnoKing of Tesla and Master of Coin, respectively. Elon and Zach will also maintain their respective positions as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer.”
Tesla did not explain the reasons for the new titles on Monday. A little over a month ago, their purchase of $1.5 billion in bitcoin was made public while they have also been hinting on accepting bitcoin as a form of payment for cars, sending the price of the world’s most popular cryptocurrency soaring at the time..
NFT
Elon Musk also just announced the sale of an NFT late Monday night by sending out a tweet saying “I’m selling this song about NFTs as an NFT,” thereby referring to the video that accompanied the tweet, displaying some gold trophy decorated with Shiba dogs, “diamond hands”, a moon and the term “HODL.
Artist Beeple immediately responded to his tweet by saying “i’ll give you $69M for it”, a wink to the winning bid on the auction of his NFT artwork, “The First 5,000 days”, just a few days ago.
Now in all seriousness, the sale of Musk’s NFT is by no means a ‘joke’ and the NFT is currently open for bidding on ‘Valuables by Cent’, with a highest bid currently of over $1 million.
