AMC movie theater customer can now avail of gift cards by paying for them in cryptocurrency.

The Chief Executive Officer of the world’s largest movie theater chain, Adam Aron announced to his 187,000 Twitter followers that Dogecoin (DOGE) and other crypto assets can be used online as well as in their venues. Gift cards can be topped up with $200 worth of crypto.

The decision was made after Aron had conducted a poll on Twitter this September. Testing the waters, he asked moviegoers if AMC should accept DOGE for payments. A staggering 77% of the 140,000 respondents confirmed that they would like to see this happen.

According to Aron, poll results were unambiguous and it was “clear” that their customers want AMC to accept payments in Dogecoin and so the theater chain started turning this into reality.

In a recent interview with Fox Business, billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban also stated that that consumers would rather use Dogecoin instead of Bitcoin to pay for goods and service:

“Not a lot of people pay in Bitcoin because it’s really an appreciable asset. It’s a stored value and they want it to go up in value, so you won’t see people pay in it. But a lot of people pay in Dogecoin.”

Another real-world use case of Dogecoin is in online gaming, whjere recently a ‘Dogecoin only’ poker room opened its doors.
