TSM, a prominent esports team, has joined forces with Avalanche to become its exclusive blockchain partner in the creation of the competitive gaming platform, Blitz. Through this partnership, TSM plans to launch a custom subnet powered by the AVAX token to bring Blitz on-chain.
Additionally, the company intends to host Avalanche-branded tournaments on the Blitz subnet, allowing players to compete for prizes while using learning tools and performance insights to improve their skills. The platform will utilize Avalanche asset manager Core to enable the buying and storing of digital assets. Avalanche’s fully customizable subnets, which offer sub-second transaction speeds, scalability, and security for millions of users, were designed to help organizations like TSM push the boundaries of what is achievable in gaming.
This partnership with Avalanche aims to onboard millions of esports gamers into Web3, following TSM’s decision to end its partnership with the bankrupt crypto exchange FTX in November. The esports league had previously embedded FTX branding across its organization, team, and player social media profiles, as part of a deal valued at $210 million, which was once the biggest in esports history.
