Telegram’s Cryptocurrency Toncoin (TON) Soars Over 30% in Week

Telegram creator Pavel Durov revealed a significant milestone in a video posted on his channel. The announcement that channel owners would only be paid in Toncoin (TON) for 50% of ad income marks a dramatic change in the advertising industry.

Expecting a “virtuous circle,” Durov gives creators the option to reinvest in channel marketing or cash out. By empowering content producers, this change seeks to improve the platform’s ecosystem’s vibrancy.

TON’s Meteoric Rise

There is no better time than now, since TON is seeing a significant upswing. Its price has increased by an astounding 30% in only the last week, reaching $2.75. The cryptocurrency, which has a 3.5 billion TON circulation supply, is now valued at $9.5 billion, making it the 18th biggest cryptocurrency in the world.

In an effort to allay worries about centralization and concentration, Durov imposed strict restrictions on TON ownership, restricting them at 10% for each investor. This calculated action seeks to reduce the risks connected to Telegram’s large Toncoin holdings.

To further promote stability and lessen market volatility, the strategy calls for selling excess TON holdings to long-term investors at a reduced rate. With this project, Telegram is demonstrating its dedication to advancing sustainability and inclusion throughout the TON ecosystem.

Telegram’s cryptocurrency journey has made a significant advancement with the decision to embrace TON as the exclusive payment currency for ad revenue sharing. With over a trillion views on Telegram channels each month, the crypto community is intrigued and excited about the possible amount of TON that might be given through this scheme.

TON made a tremendous recovery after being on the verge of failure because of regulatory obstacles. In 2020, community developers overcame obstacles due to the SEC litigation and turned TON into an open-source blockchain platform. This led to the creation of creative projects such as Notcoin, a compelling game, and more.
