According to a press release, Sachin Tendulkar, dubbed the “God of Cricket” and one of India’s most recognized athletes, has made his first entrance into the realm of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) by working with digital collectibles platform Rario.
A series of exclusive NFTs of Tendulkar’s life and career will now be available only on Rario.com, which has already sold over 150,000 NFTs since its launch in August 2021.
Tendulkar, who is also a strategic investor in Rario, said:
“It is exciting to see NFT technology bringing fans closer to sports, giving them an opportunity to treasure their favourite moments. The team at Rario was committed to building a cricket community using technology in a responsible way. I am therefore happy to partner with the team, to launch my digital collectibles exclusively on the Rario platform.”
In a little over a year since its inception, Rario has secured agreements with various cricket boards, important events, and a list of over 900 international cricketers, including top cricket players Faf du Plessis, Aaron Finch, Rishabh Pant, Virender Sehwag, and Zaheer Khan.
