Crypto.com Receives Registration as Virtual Asset Service Provider from Bank of Spain

Digital asset trading platform Crypto.com declared on Friday that it has been approved by the Bank of Spain to operate as a virtual asset service provider (VASP). Due to this registration, Crypto.com is able to provide its full range of goods and services to consumers in Spain while also demonstrating compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering Directive (AMLD) and other financial crimes legislation.

In 2021, the Bank of Spain established a registration for companies offering cryptocurrency services. Since then, a number of well-known companies, including Binance, Bitstamp, and the banking platform BVNK, have registered with the regulatory body. This action illustrates how the bitcoin market in Spain is becoming more recognized and regulated.

Spain is getting ready to implement new norms and procedures in accordance with the legislation as the European Union’s new Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) framework nears completion. Crypto.com’s registration as a VASP shows its dedication to compliance and cooperation with authorities in order to advance the responsible usage of cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies.

Crypto.com CEO Excited With the Prospect

Kris Marszalek, the CEO of Crypto.com, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the VASP registration from the Bank of Spain. In a press statement, Marszalek stated, “Receiving the VASP registration from the Bank of Spain is the latest testament to our commitment to compliance and eagerness to work with regulators and public officials in responsibly advancing crypto and blockchain technology.”

In addition to establishing Crypto.com’s presence in Spain, this registration enables the platform to broaden its reach and provide its extensive variety of products and services to the nation’s expanding community of cryptocurrency users and aficionados. Crypto.com seeks to offer a safe and regulated environment for people to engage in the crypto ecosystem by adhering to AMLD and financial crimes regulations.

Regulatory frameworks and compliance procedures are essential in building confidence and legitimacy as the bitcoin business develops. The Bank of Spain has officially registered Crypto.com as a VASP, demonstrating the company’s commitment to maintaining regulatory requirements and collaborating closely with authorities to promote the responsible development of blockchain and cryptocurrency technology.

With this significant accomplishment, Crypto.com is in a good position to service the Spanish market, giving customers access to its cutting-edge solutions, the ability to trade digital assets, and the chance to interact with a larger crypto community.
