As part of a new partnership, credit card company Mastercard will provide users of Coinbase’s recently announced nonfungible token (NFT) marketplace to use their cards to make purchases.

Mastercard executive vice president of digital asset and blockchain products, Raj Dhamodharan, said in a Tuesday company blog post that the move will allow non-crypto natives to get into NFTs without using wallet or buying Ethereum (ETH) or other tokens, which for newbies can be a complicated process.

Dhamodharan said:

“Cryptocurrency enthusiasts are used to this process. But for most people, it’s not simple, it’s not intuitive. We think it should be much easier. That will ensure NFTs can be for everyone […] Getting more people involved safely and securely is perhaps the best way to help the NFT market thrive.”

Since “Coinbase NFT” was announced in October, more than 1 million people have signed up have already signed up for the waiting list. The NFT platform will first be opened up to U.S. customers prior to the rest of the world.
