By leveraging organizations like the Shanghai collaboration Organization (SCO) and the BRICS to advance collaboration, China has underlined its commitment to fortifying its relations with Russia. At the 75th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic relations, State Councilor Shen Yiqin stressed the value of multilateral alliances, especially those with the Global South.
During the anniversary celebration at the Russian embassy in Beijing, Shen Yiqin highlighted China’s readiness to work closely with Russia to promote international cooperation. She underscored the importance of using BRICS and the SCO as key avenues for collaboration. Shen said, “We are ready to proudly carry the banner of multipolarity, defend international equity and justice, increase cooperation within international platforms, BRICS and SCO in particular, unite the Global South, and contribute to forming a community with a unified course for humanity.”
Her remarks reflected China’s ongoing dedication to fostering strong multilateral relations and its strategic commitment to working with Russia on global issues.
Shen also pointed out the growing strategic partnership between China and Russia, emphasizing the mutual goals both nations share. She noted that the two countries will continue to enhance their cooperation in the interests of national revitalization. “We will pursue deepening full-scale cooperation with our Russian friends for the good and in the interests of the national revitalization of the two countries in accordance with the top-level agreements within the context of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties and the Years of Culture,” Shen stated.
Shen also referenced recent exchanges of congratulatory messages between President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin, further affirming the nations’ commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.
