Cardano Experienced Short Network Outage on Sunday

Share

The Cardano network experienced a brief outage on Sunday, which was automatically resolved within minutes, according to engineers in a GitHub post. Several developers reported the problem on GitHub, but all nodes were instantly restarted.

A Telegram broadcast message indicates that block creating nodes were briefly impacted. Nodes are network stakeholders who maintain and execute transactions on any blockchain and are critical to the upkeep of any network.

Rick McCracken, a developer working on Cardano staking tools, tweeted that there was a small period of decline, but that most of the afflicted nodes have elegantly recovered without restarting the network.

Blockchain nodes have already gone down on networks such as Solana, with one such occurrence forcing the entire Solana network to come to a halt for more than seven hours in May 2022. In a separate incident in 2021, Solana validators were required to restart the network in order to address a network outage.
The causes of node failure might range from a high volume of transactional activity to incorrect programming. A swift remedy, like as with Cardano, indicates solid fundamentals for the impacted network, which can deal with difficulties as they emerge.
