Apple’s Steve Wozniak In Awe of Bitcoin’s ‘Pure-Gold Mathematics’

In an interview with the Insider, published last week, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak talked about cryptocurrency and repeated his awe of Bitcoin, saying it is the “only one that’s pure-gold mathematics”

While being skeptical of most of the other crypto assets, Wozniak said:

“There’s so many cryptocurrencies that come out now. Everybody has a way to create a new one, and you have a celebrity star with it. It seems like they’re just collecting a bunch of money from people who want to invest at the very earliest stage, when it’s worth pennies.”

The Apple co-founder also said that most people are not aware of potential issues with crypto and when they come in trouble, “they just fold”, he said

According to Wozniak, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are “so up in the air,” and have a track record of being “rip-offs,” as cited by the Insider.

Bitcoin, Wozniak said, is “the only one that’s pure-gold mathematics,” repeating his claims made last year of the top cryptocurrency being a “mathematical miracle” and “mathematical purity.”

With a Biden executive order on cryptocurrencies in the U.S. expected to be signed this week, Wozniak expressed his concerns that governments could forbid Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. He warned:

“The trouble is governments will never allow it to be out of their control.

If it got to the point where everything is being done in crypto and didn’t pass through governments for observation and taxation and all that, governments would just disallow it. They wouldn’t give up their power.”
