Share

PokerStars has announced the unification of player pools from Michigan and New Jersey. It implies that online poker players from both states may now play together at PokerStars for higher stakes and better games.

The day to look out for will be January 1, 2023, and it will be marked by two unique events with a total prize pool of $150,000 guaranteed.

PokerStars will hold its first Michigan and New Jersey online event on January 1, 2023, at 18:00 ET, with a $100 buy-in and $100,000 on the line.

Following that, at 18:30 ET, a special $50,000 guaranteed event will begin with a $10 buy-in.

Participants in both states may expect greater variety, more events, more players, and larger payouts as a result of the so-called “shared liquidity” in Michigan and New Jersey. Players will use the same dedicated Poker lobby and will effectively be a member of the same poker community.

PokerStars US Managing Director, Severin Rasset, highlighted the benefits of this latest developments for players by saying:

“Michigan and New Jersey joining forces is great news for our players in these two states, and poker, more generally, as it promises a better experience and even more value, all with the confidence provided by a trusted, licensed operator”

“Our community will experience more breadth and depth of games, more tournaments with bigger prizes to win, amped-up promotions, and more choice.”

As U.S. legislation become more friendly to poker and other kinds of internet gambling, it is projected that other states will join the shared player pool beginning in 2023. Rasset added:
