Moshe Refaelowitz Brings Home Victory in Event#70 $400 Colossus

In the latest running of the World Series of Poker‘s ‘Colossus’ event, an epic face-off took place, attracting a massive turnout of 15,894 poker enthusiasts vying for the championship.

At the end of Event #70: $400 Colossus, it was Moshe Refaelowitz who emerged as the winner. A Miami-based Israeli player, Refaelowitz has managed to increase his total career earnings to a staggering $671,000, thanks to his winnings from this event, which amounted to $501,120.

“Dreams do come true and I feel overwhelmed and grateful,” shared an elated Refaelowitz in an interview with PokerNews.

The final table of the event was a fierce battle, with Moshe Refaelowitz leading the game with a massive stack of chips, followed closely by Darrick Arreola. Arreola began the takedown, ensuring Max Kingstone’s exit at the tenth position.

Refaelowitz took the baton next, outsmarting Colin Robinson with a straight hand, which resulted in Robinson’s departure from the table at the ninth spot.

Arreola made his second major move of the game, taking out William Ackerman, who despite taking a risk, failed to get the desired result. Amidst all the action, Nikhil Nair, a rookie with only his third documented cash, was discreetly stacking up chips. However, Pete Chen eventually took over his chips in a Broadway card battle.

Cheering for Jose Orozcogomez was a large crowd, but their hopes were crushed when Refaelowitz, with a six, brought Orozcogomez’s journey to an end.

With a winning streak, Chen looked unstoppable until David Danlag posed a challenge. Nevertheless, Chen, with queens in the big blind, knocked out Danlag, who fell in the fifth place with his threes unable to match up.

Arreola, after several unsuccessful hands where he lost chips pre or post-flop, ended up short. Facing Refaelowitz, who he had claimed he couldn’t win against, he was eliminated, settling for the fourth place.

Chen, a professional with over $4,000,000 in lifetime tournament earnings, had to take a chance against Refaelowitz due to his diminishing stack. His risky move backfired, resulting in his exit at the third position.

In the final heads-up, Refaelowitz faced Dae Woong Song. Refaelowitz initially had a significant advantage with his huge stack. But, Song managed to double his stack and even out the scales. The chips swung back and forth for a while until Refaelowitz bluffed all-in, a move he later admitted to.

After a short break, the final play saw Refaelowitz draw the needed diamond, thus sealing Song’s fate and leading to Refaelowitz’s glorious win.
