Klint Griffin Tops Field at WSOPC Horseshoe Tunica and Wins $127,307

Klint Griffin, a Franklin, Tennessee native, claimed victory at the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) Horseshoe Tunica Main Event. With a $1,700 buy-in, the no-limit hold’em event attracted 395 participants, but it was Griffin who was crowned champion, pocketing $127,307 and capturing his first gold ring.

Previously, Griffin’s largest tournament win was $3,381, which he earned at the WSOPC Harrah’s Cherokee Main Event last August. The significant increase in his winnings at the Horseshoe Tunica event underscores his rising profile in the poker community.

The tournament generated a total prize pool of $588,425, which was distributed among the top 58 finishers. Among them were several well-known players, including six-time ring winner Preston McEwen, who finished 44th, bracelet winner Denise Pratt, who placed 33rd, and Daniel Lowery, a 15-time WSOPC ring winner, who came in 23rd.

On the final day, six contenders remained, with Lucian Camargo leading and Griffin in a strong middle position. Griffin advanced to the last four and then clinched a critical victory in a preflop race, holding A-K suited against Trace Henderson’s pocket sevens. Henderson was eliminated in fourth place, taking home $40,272.

In a subsequent match-up, Griffin’s pocket fives held against Billy Dickerson’s pocket fours, propelling Griffin into a commanding lead going into the heads-up phase. Dickerson finished in third place, earning $55,792.

The decisive moment came when Camargo, in a bold move, three-bet shoved from the big blind with TdTc. Griffin responded by calling with Ah7d. The board revealed JhJd2hAs7s, granting Griffin a winning pair of aces and securing his victory. Camargo, as runner-up, won $78,678.
