Wemix, the web3 subsidiary of Wemade, has joined forces with iconic Japanese animation studio Toei Animation to develop an innovative blockchain-based game. Known for legendary titles like Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Sailor Moon, Toei Animation brings its storytelling expertise to this ambitious project.
The collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding, with both companies revealing plans for a web3 game called DenDenGarden. Built on the DenDekaDen intellectual property, the game explores the adventures of seven characters wielding divine powers.
The game’s developers aim to capture audiences worldwide, targeting key regions like Japan, Southeast Asia, and North America. As part of the project, players can acquire DenDekaDen NFTs from the “DenDekaDen: Keshin No Kaden” collection. These NFTs, currently available on the Ethereum blockchain via the Magic Eden marketplace, will play a pivotal role in gameplay.
This partnership highlights the growing convergence of blockchain technology and traditional media. Wemix’s experience in web3 gaming complements Toei Animation’s legacy of crafting compelling narratives and characters. Together, they aim to redefine how players interact with gaming content by incorporating blockchain elements like digital ownership and decentralized economies.
By leveraging Toei Animation’s global recognition and Wemix’s blockchain expertise, DenDenGarden promises to set new standards in web3 gaming. The collaboration signals a strategic shift in how games are developed, integrating blockchain technology with rich storytelling to create immersive experiences.
The game not only strengthens Toei Animation’s presence in the digital realm but also aligns with Wemix’s mission to advance web3 adoption in the gaming industry.
