Eclipse Glow Games has revealed Tides of Annihilation, a fantasy action-adventure game inspired by Arthurian legend. The game will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, though a release date has yet to be announced. The campaign is expected to offer over 30 hours of gameplay.
The story follows Gwendolyn, the last survivor of an attack on London by an Outworld invasion. As she searches for her sister, she discovers the ability to command spectral knights of the Round Table. Her journey takes her through a transformed modern London and the mystical world of Avalon, where she must battle powerful demi-gods to determine the fate of both realms.
The game introduces a dual-knight combat system, allowing players to harness the abilities of over ten spectral knights to create powerful combos. London’s landscape has been altered by the invasion, turning familiar landmarks into battlegrounds. Players will also encounter massive mobile knights roaming the city, acting as both interactive environments and formidable enemies.
Boss battles play a major role, with over 30 encounters based on Knights of the Round Table lore. Each boss has unique abilities, requiring different strategies to overcome them. The game also explores the mystery of Gwendolyn’s origin and her connection to the Gray Fog that shrouds the Outworld.
Eclipse Glow Games, a Tencent-backed studio based in Chengdu, has a team of over 100 developers. Core members have experience from major studios like SEGA, Ubisoft, and Gameloft, having worked on titles such as Yakuza 0, For Honor, Assassin’s Creed, Persona, and Prince of Persia.
Kun Fu, the studio’s lead game producer, shared his thoughts on the project:
“Debuting Tides of Annihilation at Sony State of Play is an incredible, humbling accomplishment for the Eclipse Glow development team. It’s also just the beginning. We’ve created a world that reimagines Arthurian legend where themes of courage, loyalty, and heroism intertwine with an epic story set in a strange-yet-familiar setting that will test the mettle of true gamers and push the genre forward.”
The first extended look at the game is expected later this year.
