The Sandbox has launched an exciting initiative known as the Builder’s Challenge, kicking off today, February 12, and extending through April 22. This initiative, which boasts a substantial prize pool of 1 million SAND, encourages creators to explore their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit in the metaverse. Aimed at fostering innovation and engagement, the challenge is a testament to The Sandbox’s commitment to supporting the creative community.
Creators are invited to leverage the latest Game Maker 0.9 features, including the new Rules System, to design games that are not only fun but also offer replayability and a compelling First Time User Experience (FTUE). This approach aims to enhance game discoverability and encourage longer play sessions, which are crucial for standing out in the competition.
A unique aspect of the Builder’s Challenge is the Engagement Pool, a dynamic reward system that values community growth, player engagement, and session length. This aligns perfectly with The Sandbox’s goal of empowering creators to produce experiences that captivate and retain players. The analytics page provides creators with valuable insights into their experiences, including average session lengths and the number of unique visits, enabling them to track progress and understand their performance in the challenge.
To participate, creators must meet specific requirements such as age verification, wallet setup, and adherence to The Sandbox’s Terms of Use. Additionally, experiences must be created using Game Maker 0.9 and should not be part of another event to qualify for the Engagement Pool. The Sandbox also emphasizes the importance of fairness and ethical participation, implementing a rigorous process for claiming rewards, including KYC (Know Your Customer) for individuals and KYB (Know Your Business) for corporate entities.
Eligibility criteria ensure a level playing field, with measures in place to prevent cheating and unauthorized activities. Special provisions are also made for experiences under unique circumstances, such as those published on the LAND of a brand or IP and those hosted on The Sandbox-owned land, to be eligible for rewards.
