The Ethereum-based shooter game “The Machines Arena” (TMA) is set to make its open beta debut next week, transitioning from a year-long closed beta phase. Developed by Directive Games, TMA operates on the Ethereum sidechain network Ronin and will soon be available for Android devices as well as through the Epic Games Store.
Starting Tuesday, April 23, gamers can download the open beta version of TMA from the Epic Games Store or directly through the TMA website for Android users. Additionally, the game will be accessible on both PC and Android via Mavis Hub, the launcher for the Ronin gaming network.
The development team at Directive Games expressed their enthusiasm about the release, stating, “After months of hard work, fine-tuning, and incorporating valuable feedback from our dedicated community, we are finally ready to extend the beta to the public on more platforms and devices than ever before.”
A significant addition to the game is the introduction of “familiars,” a new gameplay and collection feature. These collectible companions aid players in battle, though further details about their function will be revealed in the coming week.
Previously, TMA had not heavily utilized its Web3 capabilities. In July last year, the team announced the future ability to mint earned skins into NFTs, a feature that became available to closed beta participants two months ago on the Ronin network.
