Ragnarok Games is bringing a new multiplayer experience to PC with the launch of BloodLoop, a free-to-play 5v5 hero shooter arriving exclusively on the Epic Games Store on June 23. The early access release includes a limited-time $15,000 tournament and introduces players to a competitive world where futuristic storytelling and tactical gameplay come together.
Good to know
Set in the year 2191, BloodLoop imagines a dying planet where three rival factions compete not through war but in a digital combat arena. Players step into this world by choosing one of three available modes: Team Deathmatch, Free-For-All, and Energy War. Each format supports solo or team-based play, but the core gameplay revolves around strategic 5v5 matchups.
At launch, players will have access to five unique heroes, each with distinct styles and abilities. Wendigo excels at tracking opponents, Qatil is built for stealth and speed, while Steve adds a humorous tone without sacrificing competitive value. These characters give players tactical options and allow for various playstyles.
To draw in early adopters, Ragnarok Games is launching a Seasonal Leaderboard Tournament that operates on a play-to-airdrop model. Anyone can join by purchasing a $9.99 pass using the game’s token, $BLS. The initial prize pool sits at $15,000, but could climb to $130,000 depending on player participation. Seventy-five percent of pass revenue goes directly into the pool.
Player standings are ranked using MMR, and the top 20 percent will receive rewards. The system gives skilled players a clear path to earn while keeping the entry barrier low. Exclusive digital collectibles are also being released to celebrate launch, with partners including OpenSea and Avalanche.
While blockchain features are built into the game, they remain optional. Players can craft gear and cosmetic items tied to the blockchain, but those who want a standard shooter experience can play without interacting with any Web3 tools. The crafting system lets users personalize gameplay through earned cosmetics.
The first season of BloodLoop will run for one month and focus on rewarding progression, balanced matchmaking, and fresh content. More champions, missions, and in-game items are expected in future updates as Ragnarok builds out the competitive ecosystem.
