Yuga Labs, a web3 leader and creator of popular NFT collections such as Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), CryptoPunks, Meebits, and 10KTF, has announced the successful completion of 2nd Trip. The event drew a record-breaking 7,214 concurrent users to Otherside, Yuga’s gamified, metaRPG universe. The immersive experience, which took place on March 25th, featured competitive gameplay across various new Otherside environments, with participants split into four teams led by Team Captains. Team Glacia emerged victorious after 90 minutes of intense gameplay.
2nd Trip made history as the largest crowd of players in a virtual world, and showcased Yuga’s ability to bridge the gap between gaming and web3 communities through creative storytelling. The event was powered by Yuga’s experiential leadership, technical innovations from Improbable Worlds, and support from NVIDIA Graphics Delivery Network and 11 NVIDIA partners, making the event truly global.
In addition to the record-breaking number of concurrent users, the event featured over 320,000 aerial stunts and more than 80,000 player microphone interactions. Members across 20 different NFT collections joined the event and were able to customize their characters with new avatars and designs.

Yuga’s Otherside journey continues with the launch of Legends of the Mara, a collection-based 2D strategy game that delves into the origins of Otherside. The company is pushing towards a more persistent experience for Otherside by the end of 2023.
