According to David Holtzman, chief strategy officer of the Naoris decentralized security protocol and an experienced military intelligence specialist, centralized data systems are vulnerable. Holtzman clarified in an interview with Cointelegraph that “the whole problem with centralized systems is that there is a center.”
He emphasized how centralized systems’ one point of control makes them susceptible to misuse by governments and businesses. These weaknesses are made worse by emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum computing, which seriously jeopardize vital industries like banking, healthcare, and even military intelligence.
To counter these challenges, Holtzman advocates for decentralizing AI through blockchain, which introduces human oversight. Additionally, quantum-resistant algorithms can safeguard sensitive information. Yet, he warns, institutional power remains a looming threat. “I think humanity is due for a bit of a shakeup because we’ve given too much power to institutions in the last 50 years,” he said.
