With a significant milestone approaching—the 2025 release of the PlayStation 5—the game's developers intend to use this money to advance their platform. The oversubscribed funding round was led by influential venture capitalists, including Animoca Brands, Polygon Ventures, and Taisu Ventures. These investors share a vision for Moonray’s innovative approach to gaming. Unlike typical video games, Moonray integrates graphic novels like Mother’s Skin and Echoes of Ascension, which are already distributed in over 4,000 stores across North America and the UK. This unique combination of gaming and narrative deepens the overall player experience. In a market where traditional gaming and Web3 technologies are often seen as distinct, Moonray is taking bold steps to unite the two. By offering seamless gameplay for both blockchain and non-blockchain players, the developers hope to bring Web3 gaming to a much larger audience. Aiming for Simplicity and Widespread Appeal Moonray began testing on PC in 2023, quickly establishing itself as a multiplayer combat arena. Following a successful alpha launch on the Epic Games Store, the developers introduced campaigns that reward active player engagement. The game’s economics aim for simplicity, moving away from the “pay-to-win” model that often frustrates players. In addition to its PC and PlayStation 5 ambitions, Moonray is also eyeing mobile platforms for future expansion. This could significantly broaden the game’s reach, attracting both traditional and Web3 gamers. Moonray has already made waves in the NFT space, setting records on OpenSea with a landmark mint. This success further demonstrates the game’s commitment to innovative monetization methods and community engagement.
