According to their website, The Global Poker League (GPL) is “GPI’s answer to modern mainstream, audience-centric poker competition with a team based, zero buy-in structure and games played out online, in studio &live at iconic venues and events.” Teams of different regions compete against eachother in a series of different games and formats.
After months of preparations, on Tuesday April 5th GPL finally started. Twelve teams, distributed over two competitions, will compete against one another on different locations. The first week saw players play 6-max and heads-up Sit & Go’s.
