Share

The World Poker Tour team announced a few days ago that they have decided where the first two stops of season 2 of WPT Alpha8 will be. The first stop will be in London at the Palm Beach Casino and the second stop will be in the wonderful Las Vegas at the Bellagio Hotel.

The first stop is in the Palm Beach Casino in London, which will begin on October 6th and end on the 7th. The first season of WPT Alpha8 also took the players through this casino, but there’s a slight change this year compared to last year and that is the buy-in size. This year the buy-in is £60,000, while last year it was a massive £100,000, where Philipp Gruissem won and brought home £862,400.

The event will not be filmed or shown on TV for the rest of the world to see unfortunately, but there will be other events during the WPT Alpha8 Season 2 that will be filmed and shown online and on TV.

For the second stop of the season, the crew are going to the city of sin also known as Las Vegas. Here they will be playing a $100,000 tournament in the Bellagio Hotel and Casino, which is the first time that they will be hosting any WPT Alpha8 event.

The tournament will be played from December 18th to the 20th and will be played at the same time as the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic. Having both events there at the same time means a full house, but it also means that both events will be televised and shown around the world afterwards.

“We are truly honored to announce WPT Alpha8 London and WPT Alpha8 Las Vegas as our first events of WPT Alpha8 Season 2,” Adam Pliska, President of the WPT said. “Not only are we returning to one of the most prestigious locations in the world at the Palm Beach Casino in Mayfair, but we are also bringing WPT Alpha8 to the home of high-stakes poker at Bellagio in Las Vegas, where we are already expecting to draw one of the largest fields in WPT Alpha8 history.”
