Final Day of the Battle of Malta Main Event

Share

We have reached the final stage of the Battle of Malta Main Event, as day 2 came to an end late last night and today the final 35 players will battle it out for the title and the €140,000 first prize. 261 players started day 2, with money for a 170 and once the bubble had bursted, the players began to drop like flies.

Pokerlistings’ specially invited celebrities and pro’s overall didn’t do great, as only a few of them managed to actually get in the money. Maria Ho, Fabrice Soulier, Luca Moschitta and Konstantin Puchkov were the only ones from Pokerlistings who managed to finish in the money out of 170 players overall.

Most of the pro’s has been playing cash games and side-events instead, so let’s hope that they do a little better there than they did in the main event. The chipleader going into day 3 is once again the French poker pro Hugo Lemaire, who has a massive 2.4 million chips to start the final day with, having run better than most others in the tournament already.

“I ran very good today, as I managed to beat AA and AK with my KT offsuit. At the same time my table draw was very good, as the table was very passive and weak” Lemair said to Pokerlistings.

Yesterday was also the starting day of the Siege of Malta High-Roller tournament, which was expected to attract a bigger crowd than it did. The High-Roller will continue today with the final table and the winner being crowned.
