Darren Elias Wins Borgata Poker Open for $843,744

The Borgata Poker Open has come to an end, after five long days of play and 37 levels. In the end only one player out of the 1,226 could be crowned the winner and despite Kane Kalas being the guy to knock out the opponents and also starting the heads-up duel as a chipleader, he was not the guy who ended up taking it all home.

Instead the tournament was won by the very popular Darren Elias, who after a longer heads-up duel against Kane Kalas took home the title and the first prize money of $843,744. It was Elias’ second Borgata Poker Open final table, as he finished in fifth place in season X, determined to make it better this time around.

And so he did, despite Kalas seeming unstoppable as he knocked out the first two players within the first 10 or so hands. Kalas controlled the table, but got into some setups against Elias, which made Elias’ stack grow and made it possible for him to challenge Kalas in the end.
