What’s Changing in Fantasy Top Season 5 and How the Game Works

Share

Fantasy Top has geared up for its biggest changes yet in Season 5. Developers have reworked leagues, prizes, and competitive formats so players, whether casual or hardcore, find something that suits them.

Good to Know

  • Fantasy Top was launched on May 1, 2024 on the Blast network.
  • “Heroes” are real Web3 influencers whose social media engagement on X (formerly Twitter) determines in-game scoring.
  • NFT Hero cards have rarity levels: Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary; they come with score multipliers.

What Is Fantasy Top?

Fantasy Top is a Web3 SocialFi trading card game built on the Blast layer-2 network. Players collect NFT cards called Heroes, each linked to a crypto influencer from platform X. Points in tournaments come from how well those influencers perform on X—things like engagement, impressions, etc. The more active or engaging an influencer is, the more points their cards can earn. Cards have rarity (with multipliers) and stars (which reflect recent performance) to influence potential.

Each deck needs five Hero cards. Players can buy card packs or trade on the marketplace. Pack supply can vary a lot; rare cards are scarcer. Free-to-play is limited—must own NFT Heroes for many tournaments.

Season 5: What’s New

Introduced in this new season are updated league tiers, altered prize pools, and extra competitive layers so more players can participate meaningfully. Here are the highlights:

Platinum League

A fresh league slot appears between Gold and Diamond. It allows up to three Epic cards and one Legendary card per deck, with a salary cap of 25 Stars. Platinum has a prize pool of 4.20 ETH, with the winner getting 0.4 ETH. Almost 1,000 players will earn rewards in this tier.

Diamond League (the top tier)

What used to be called Elite League now ranks highest. Only the best players climb here. The prize pool is 6.20 ETH, and first place receives 1 ETH. Ranks 1-99 share in the ETH pool; ranks beyond that (up to ~800 more) get Fragments and FAN points.

Other Leagues Adjusted

  • Gold League: Winner now earns 0.3 ETH from its 4.20 ETH pot.
  • Silver League: Champion takes 0.25 ETH; top ~299 players share 3.20 ETH.
  • Bronze League: Winner gets 0.18 ETH, and more players get rewarded (top ~399).
  • Reverse League: No more ETH rewards here. Players still get Fragments and FAN points.

New Rewards & Player-Focused Changes

Developers didn’t just stop at reshaping leagues. They added more ways to earn:

  • Every season now includes +6 ETH added to overall prize pools.
  • A Burn Wave leaderboard gets 100,000 Fragments in rewards.
  • They hinted at new game modes and sponsored rewards from external projects. Details haven’t been fully released yet.

These tweaks respond to past feedback. Players asked for more balance between casual and serious competition. Top leagues have steeper rewards now. Lower leagues offer flatter distributions so more players feel they have a chance.

How the Game Plays & What Players Should Know

Fantasy Top blends strategy, prediction, and social media metrics. Key elements:

  • Heroes’ card rarity multiplies points earned.
  • Stars reflect recent performance on X; though stars don’t always affect core scoring, they guide choices (which Heroes to pick).
  • NFT ownership matters: players must own Heroes to participate in many competitive tournaments.
  • ETH, Fragments, FAN points are key rewards. Fragments let players buy packs, FAN points may have governance or bonus-utility later.

Looking Forward

Season 5 stands out as a turning point. With the Platinum League, flatter reward curves in lower tiers, and plans for new modes, the game gears toward broader appeal. Exact start date for the new season hasn’t been announced. Players should be ready for evolving features, and possibly shifts in how scoring or rewards work further down the line.
