Voodoo has teamed up with Hasbro, the renowned creator of toys and games, to bring the popular TRANSFORMERS series into its hit game, Mob Control. This partnership seeks to merge the world-famous TRANSFORMERS characters with Mob Control’s captivating gameplay mechanics.

The event called ‘Echoes from Cybertron, a TRANSFORMERS Adventure’ begins today, March 11th, featuring Bumblebee as the initial champion. The plan includes introducing more characters in future seasons.

Eugene Evans, SVP Digital Strategy and Licensing at Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro, expressed enthusiasm about integrating TRANSFORMERS into Mob Control, especially during the franchise’s 40th anniversary. He said:

“Mob Control continues to demonstrate amazing growth and success globally since launch, it’s a great opportunity to introduce TRANSFORMERS to a massive audience during the brand’s 40th anniversary year.

“This collaboration is a prime example of our strategy to grow our digital games portfolio. By working with innovative teams, such as the talented minds behind Voodoo, we can expand the reach of our brands to gamers in entirely new formats, all around the world.”

The event starts with ‘Bumblebee to the rescue’, where players can fight alongside Bumblebee, who offers unique abilities in both his bot and vehicle forms. This episode presents six levels leading to a grand boss fight spread across three rounds.

Players need to gather Energon, a special currency from the TRANSFORMERS universe, to access the battle zones. Victories unlock exclusive rewards, like Bumblebee blueprints, available only during the event. Moreover, players can influence the storyline of future episodes by voting on plot decisions upon completing levels.

With nearly $100 million in revenue in 2023, Mob Control is among Voodoo’s most successful games. Led by Miguel Santirso, who previously worked as a technical lead on Candy Crush Soda Saga at King, the team is fully remote, centered around Barcelona. The studio is growing rapidly and is on the lookout for new talent to join their innovative efforts.
