Ubisoft Unleashes “Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles” NFT Drop

With the launch of its first NFT drop for the Web3 title “Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles,” gaming giant Ubisoft is set to make a historic step into the blockchain gaming space. This event, which is scheduled for December 18th, is a critical turning point in Ubisoft’s exploration of blockchain technology and NFTs.

Using a different strategy, Ubisoft is dropping the NFT for “Champions Tactics.” The debut takes place in two stages: first, at 6 a.m. ET, for gamers on its elite “Darklist,” and second, at 2 p.m. ET for the general public. Notably, collectors will only be charged Ethereum network gas fees once the first 8,000 “Warlord” NFTs are distributed for free.

In addition to being in-game items, the “Warlord” NFTs also function as PFP (profile photo) NFTs. This dual functionality demonstrates how gaming and digital identification are becoming more and more integrated. In addition to signifying possession of a digital item, possessing a Warlord NFT grants you access to future gameplay advantages.

Warlord owners are eligible for free future mint access, which entitles them to five “Champions Tactics” characters. The game will operate on the Oasys blockchain, which is Ethereum-compatible, even though its NFTs are made on Ethereum. 9,999 Warlord NFTs are included in the total mint, with some going to the Oasys community and being used for promotions.

Though specific gameplay details remain undisclosed, Ubisoft has revealed intriguing lore for “Champions Tactics.” Set in Grimoria, a world divided into seven factions, each led by warlords, the game spans a diverse universe. From zombie-like figures to demonic entities and medieval knights, the factions promise a rich and varied gaming experience.

Ubisoft has announced partnerships with Web3 projects Pixelmon and CyberKongz, heightening the excitement. Details about these collaborations are still being worked out, but they should support the release and mint of “Champions Tactics.” The PvP tactical role-playing game was first revealed in June 2023 and is expected to debut on PC in early 2024.

By navigating this thrilling endeavor, Ubisoft not only broadens its selection of games but also influences the direction of popular gaming by providing players with an immersive and one-of-a-kind experience through the integration of blockchain and NFT.
